As expected, then.- has been a rise in values in London since the c; ,nmgof the November swiea of wool sales ; anct although the riao (5 percent, to 8 per cent.) is ui.t qujte so much as was expected, it is to be hoped it will have the effect of giving an impetus to our sales here, which open on December 17. Sheepskins.— The sales were held at the Chamber of Commerce as usual on Tuesday, when fairly large catalogues were submitted. The attendauce of buyers ([shippers at present being almost out of the market) waß not so large as usual, and prices all round, excepting for merinos, were easier. Butchers best cro^alreds brought -from 4s 3d to ss ; dry crossbreds, 3s 6d to 4s Bd— extra heavy to 5s 3d ; dry merinos, 2s 6d to 3s 9d : pelts, 4d to 7d ; lambskins, 9d to Is Id. Rabbitskina continue to meet with good competition, and prices aie well maintained. Best winter dops fetch 12id to 13d; best winter mixed, Ufa to 12d : medium and off season, 9d to lOJd ; summers and late caught, 5d to 7id. Tallow meets with a ready sale at quotations. Best rendered, 14s to 15s ; medium, 12s to 13s ; best mutton caul fat, 11s to 11s Cd ; mixed, 10s to 10s 6d. Grain— Oats : The market, which has been somewhat dull during the past week, is more animated to-day, but without any quotable improvement on late values. Quotations: Prime milling sorts, 2s Id to 2s 2£d;good to best feed, 2s to 2s Id ; medium, Is lOd to Is lid per bushel (sacks extra ) Wheat : The demand continues keen, and all offering is readily saleable at quotations. Prime velvet is specially inquired for. Quotations : Prime milling velvet, 4s 9d to ss ; do Tuscan, 4s 8d to 4s 101 ; medium, 4< 4d to 4s 7d ; fowl feed, 3s lOd to 4a 3d per bushel (sacks in,) Barley : No change to report.
