KAKANUI.

November 23.— At the last meeting of the Kakanui Loyal Band of Friendship Lodge, M.IT L0.0.F.,, a motion was passed that had been brought forward by P.G. Bro. E. P^ckwood, making provision for members' daughters who at the age of 18 years become exempt from medical attendance. It was resolved— " That as boys have the opportunity of joining the lodge, girls also have the privilege of securing medical attendance at the same rate as that paid to the medical officer for a male ; this privilege to cease at marriage." A deputation had been appointed at a previous meeting to wait on the doctor, who axpressed his willingness to accept the same conditions. The motion was carried, and a unanimous vote of thanks to P.G. Bro. Packwood was passed before the meeting adjourned.
