Auckland, June 30.

A cablo received to-day states that shaves are b*iyg allotted in London to subscribers for the Hk.uveUx South Company. The folio itmg notice postad on the Exchange to-day :— " Tfae option of .the Talisman has been extended until Monday, the 6th prox." At a special fitting of the Supreme Court, in Chambers, his Honor Mr Justice Conolly granted an injunction restraining Jonathan 0. fi. W. Seaver from dealing with an option acquired by him from the Broken Hill syndicate to purchase the latter's miniog property at Tairua until an impending action instituted by E W. Alison had been heard. Mr Hugh Campbell, instructed by Mr Coleman, appeared in support of the motion. According to plaintiff's statement it appeared Seaver recently acquired the option for some thousands of pounds ; that on Tuesday last he offered to sell his option to Alison for £1000 in oash; that on the sama day Alteon accepted the offer, and that on Thursday last Seaver refused to accept £4000 when the amount wa<s tendered him, or sign a transfer of his option. This action was therefore immediately commenced to compel Seaver to transfer his option to Alison to purchase the property., A Whangarei telegram states tbat some stone brought in from the North Star, Puhipuhi, being assayed by Mr Fleming, of Waihi, haa returned over lOOOoz of silver and Boz of gold. A considerable, area has been taken up.

July 3. The directora of the Moanataiari North and the Moanataiari Extended, two Thames companies, have agreed to place the combined property on the London market for flotation. Cable advice has been received from London concerning the sale of the "Waitekauri Consolidated mines. This property includes the Burbank and Alpha Extended, special claims adjoining the Uomata, at Waitekauii. The capital of the company is to be £100,000. in £1 shares, with a working capital of £26 000, tha vendors receiving £26,000 in cash and paid-up shares. A cable has been received from London by Dr S. W. Baker stating that the offer for floating the Monarch and Gfreat Western has been accepted. These two mines compriso an area of 65 acres, situated at Waikorimiko, adjacent to theFour-in-Httnd and Forest Queen mines. Mr Leo Myers, anting on behalf of the AustralAfrican syndicate, has lodged £500 deposit for the option of the Grace Darling and Portsea properties!, a further £50£ to be paid within a fortnight. The terms are :— Capital of the company, £175,000, in £1 shares, present shareholders to receive £4000 cash and 68,000 fully paid-up shares ; the purchasers to provide a working capital of £25,000. The Pyramid, Prioress, and Verdon properties are included in the purchase. Messra Devore and Cooper have received a cablegram from the attorney for the Golden Link Companyin London, as foll-iws :— " Contract arranged. Capital of company, £100,000. Vendora to receive £3005 and 3001) £i shares fully paid up. Purchasing company provide a working capital of £25,000, half of which is to be issued and balance reserved. Request £5000 to be paid."

The Try Fluke Company's legal manager has received an instalment of £10,000, being part of the £60,000 paid for the property. An offer has been received by cable for the Argosy mine. Negotiations ate to be completed in a day or so. An offer has been made for the option of floating tho O-pstan property, which adjoins the Big; Waitekauri mine. The object is to float the Capstan, Waitekauri Reel, and Waitekauri Monarch as one property. The Waitekauri Company's return for the three weeks ending June 25 gives bullion valued at £fS64 from 117 tons of ore. The present returns are from the Golden Cross section only, tha floods having interfered with the old 10-stamperbattery and the new 50-head stamp battery. It is ■expected the whole of the 50 head of stamps will be at work by Monday next.

, July 3. During the past month 2910 tons of ore were treated at the Waihi batteries for £11,221 worth of bullion. The average number of stamps working during the month was 82. Several new properties' were placed on the local market to-day, and over-subscribed in a short time.

The mouth's clean-up of the Kapai- Vermont resulted ia a return of 2540z melted gold from 307 tons. A cablegram has been received stating that the Tux Gold Mining Company has been floated. The working capital of £20,000 is being lodged io the bank. The total capital of the company will bo £150,000. A sum of £60 was to-day remitted by cable, with instructions to proceed with the work of further development at once. This property includes the old Champion, No. 4 Mikado, Earl of Aberdeen, and Glasgow. Messrs Chambers and Griffiths leave on Monday for the purpose of laying out a battery site for not leas than 40 head of stanim. . The following offer for the Maritana property has been accepted :-Capital. £175,000 in £L shavrs ; vendors to receive £000 shares pud up ; £30,000 working capital to ba provided. The purchasers guarantee the flotation of the company in London in a month, or frill forfeit £5000. A cable has been received stating that a contract for the flotation of the May Queen has baen signed, and £7500 on account of working capital lodged with the Bank of New Zealand. A deposit has been paid for the Motta Star property, at Cabbage Bay, by a London syndicate, who hold the option of'purchase. A London cable states that the prospectus is announced of the Gloucester Company, Hauraki, with a capital of £120,000. Shares representing £20,000 will be issued*.

July 4 Arrangements have been completed to-day lor placing the Capstan, Waitekauri, Monarch, and Waitelcauri reef mines tinder nffsr in London aa one property. An offer for the combined properties has been received.

The following cable has been received by Mr S. J. Hutchinaon re the Scandinavian from London: — "Subject to buyers' engineer's report, we propose to float on following terms :— Capital, £40,000; working capital, £30,000; vendors to receive £25,000 fully paid-up shares, and .£3OOO cash." The Scandinavian Company agreed to accept the terms. ' A cable has been received from England that the machinery for the Hanraki Re=f Company has been shipped. The directors of the Argosy (Tairua) have decided to acoept the followins* terms offered for this property :— Capital, £17,500 ; working capital, £40,000 ; immediate working capital £10,000, being guaranteed before the issue.

Messrs J. A. Wauchope. M.F.1., M.F... F.R.G.S., and A. D. • Douglas have returned from the Thames, Puru, and Tapii districts. Mr Wauchope inspected the Marion special claim, which is peg and peg with the Puru Consolidated G.M. Company's property, on behalf of Mr Douglas, who has an option over the former, aud expressed himself as highly pleased with what he saw, and especially with the show in the Rimu reef. At Tapu Mr Wauchope, after a careful examination, purchased (through Messrs Douglas and Quinlin) two wellknown freehold properties for mining pur-p)ses-via., Bennett's and Campbell's— the combined area being 300 acre*. This property was worked in the early days to advantage. The purchase was made on behalf of influential Jfinglish capitalists. Hawke's freehold, peg and peg with Golden Point, was also inspected and recommended. Messrs Quinlin and Douglas have secured this property for the local market. The amount of Ihe purchase money paid forthefiratmentioned properties is substantial. The title is absolutely secure. July S. Mr Duncan Clarke has withdrawn the option for tha Talisman Extended.

A cablegram has been received that the New May Queen Company has been registered and the dep isit paid. The cash to be paid to the shareholders in the Hazelbank gold mine is in the hanHs 0! Hesßr3 Devore and Cooper awaiting the completion of the documents. Tbo shareholders acquiesced in tho action of the director;? in selling. The following cablegram waa received to-day from London :—": — " Hauraki NSJouth floated very successfully. Expect to have everything arranged by end of month." Mr Phillips also cabled that the share certificates and working capital for the Maotiland Comiiimy were deposited. The Atlas (Wharekaurapunga) claim adjoins the Tavistock grouud recently Moated in London and now known as thc'Royal Standard.
