Cairo, Jane 30. The Khalifa is represented as furious at the Ferkeh defeat, and denounces the tribes as oppressed braggarts who wish to share his power. The captnred despatches indicate widespread dissension amongst the emirs. July 5. The railway is completed to Ferkeh. . July 6.
Nine deaths from cholera have occurred among the troops at Wady Haifa. The Egyptian troops have advanced to Koshel. It is reported that 20,000 dervishes who are xesolved to fight are massing at Dongola. There is some tension between Osman Dlgna and the Khalifa, owing to the latter denuding the Suakin district of. men and arms. . .
