A. general amnesty is proclaimed in Crete, and the Halippa Convention, wh!6b provides for a Christian Governor and officials', is to be revived. Unless, however, the Powers vrill guarantee the execution of reforms, the Cretans declare that they will proclaim, a nnion with Greece.
The Right Hon. Mr Curzon, Undersecretary for Foreign Affairs, said, in antwer to a question in the House of Commons, that England could only intervene to tbe extent on which the Powers were unanimous. It would-be fraught with peril to the peace of Europe to aot alone.
The consuls have informed the Cretans that they will forfeit the sympathy of Europe unless they accept the Forte's conCBBBions.

The Cretans are besieging 1600 troops in Kanieano. The Turk*, in. attempting 'to relieve the place, lost three guns and '200 killed. '
July 6. The Forte is masting 16 battalions of reierves at Wits, much to the annoyance of the Greek Government.
