THE WOOL SALES.

London, June 30.

At the wool auctions bidding was spirited, though prices show from par to 5 per cent, deolme. ,•

July 1.

At the opening day of the wool sales 9918 bales were catalogued, but the selection was. only mediocre. There was a large attendance of buyers from Home and the Continent, but the Americans were absent. Competition was spirited. Crossbreds were unchanged, but merinos declined 6 per cent., the fall being most noticeable in inferior sorts. The wool sales continue firm at the opening rates.

An excellent selection was offered at the wool sales to-day, and competition was brisk.

July 3. The wool market is firm with prices unchanged.

At to-day's wool Bales the highest prioos of the series were realised. Orossbreds especially were firm.

The total quantity of .wool catalogued up to data is 57,400 bales, of which 52,800 bales have been sold. Lustrous crossbreds show an ccawtonal ftteasccj e&er sorts axe

The wool sales opened this morning. There was a large attendauco of buyers. Bidding was keen at first. The oatalogue was devoted to merino?.

M«isrs Dalgety and Co. are in receipt of ths following cablegrams from their London office : Dated London, June 30 :— " Wool sales opened with a fair selection and a large /attendance of bufe:s. Competition was' tairly animated. Ikic4B for the bulk of crossbred and good merino weols are on a par with clcsiog rates of last series, aud for the balk of medium and inferior woule any change w in favour of buyers."
