July C— The winter this year has been simply a perfect one in South Canterbury. The 'frosts have kept off wonderfully we'l, with the result that feed has held out longer than was anticipated at tlie beginning of the Beison. When we had snow l»iat year, this year we have been treated to weather which is very like the first breath of spr'mg. A week ago we had a week's drizzling rain, but that practically ia all the bad weather we have yet had this winter. Racino — Ou Wednesday night last ths Gsr.nldine Trotting Club's stewards met and disqualified for life Messrs Voyce, Hammond, lUe, Frank Bull, and tho horse Sultan ia connection with the Sultan-Moody " ringing-in "-caw.
