ROAD BOARD MEETINGS.
The regular monthly meeting of the Peninsula Road Board was held at the board's office, Highcliff, on Saturday, and attended by Messrs Stuart, Fairbairu, Rowe, M'Curdy, Murray, and Robeitzon. Mr Stuart was elected 'chairman, Mr M'Curdy treasurer, and Mr Bowe to countersign cheques. Mr Hodge resigned his 1 position as olerk to the board, and Mr John Bishop was appointed clerk and collector. The motion to strike a rate of Jd in the pound was confirmed. The clerk was instructed to write to oocupiers of property in Valpyfs road requesting them to cnt the trees overhanging the. road. A circular was read from the New Zealand Association asking the board to appoint delegates. Tho board could not see their way clear to take action in the matter. Mr D. Weir wrote^o' the board asking to have the ruts filled in leading to- the quarry on the Camp rtiad, but the disclaimed any liability. Accounts were passed for payment for £121 12s Id. Tho regular meeting of Hie Tomahawk Road Bo.ud was held on Saturday, and attended by Messrs W. Stewart (chsiimnn), J. Matheeon, E. Dooley, and J. C. Miller. The Chairman reptrted tunfe lupins had been planted and fence erected. It was resolved to thatch the sand drift 25ft from the edge of the road near Mr Dooley's. The surfaceman was instructed to quarry 40vds of met&l for Main road. Accounts were liaised for payment for £25 14s 63.
