TAIERI COUNTY PLOUGHING MATCH.
The Taieri Derby and the West Taieri and Maungatua Ploughing. Match Committees hava amalgamated, and will in future hold only oni match annually on the Taieri, instead of two at formerly. This arrangement should oauie a revival of interest in the work of the committee* and as there wfll be fnndc available to jiv^ prizes of increased value there it no doubt but that more ploughmen from a distance will atteud, especially as there will be a ohampioti olaflo, with a valuable money prize, in addition, to tfce cba.uco of winning tho trophy for tho championship. Tho new cotamittea work* under the title of "The Taieri County Ploughing Match Committea," Mr William Suow being chairman^ Mr George Gordon vice-chairman, Mr Jamea M'Oonnachie treasurer, and Me John Millee secretary. The committee also contemplate holding a trial of digging plough*, cultivators, com* drills, &c, on the day of the match, if ground can be obtained and suitable arrangements made for smth. This should indues a large gathering of farmers and others to witness the -work of these various implements, as well ai the ploughing.
