The New South Wales Rowing A«ociation have decided to allow their delegates at the Australasian Rowing Conference a free hand on all matters except on the quaatioa of the amateur definition to govern future intercolonial contests. Their d«leg.vtea will urge that the definition to be adopted shall be the definition in force in New South Wales, but the delegates, however, will be at liberty to concede the provisions excluding manual labour amateura. They will not give way, however, on the exclusion of " men employed in or about boats," which caused .the disqualification of the Queen's Drive crew of Now Zealand. The New South Wales Association have also deolined to comply with the request of the New Zealand Rowing Association that the distance for the Intercolonial Fours be increased from two and a-qu*rter to three miles.
