Duncan B. Howard was to-d*y convicted on two charges of slj grog-sslling st Earioi, m'the interior of Wnnganui, on Frbruury 10. On tha first charge he was fined £25, and sentenced to fchrpe months' imprisonment on the second, Judge Kettle remarking that the court; were defcermiued to pub down illicit traffic in drink. On the application of counsel, the judge agreed to reconsider his decision in tha Kcond CA.se, the probation officer and the police to report in the meantime i>n tho character of fcVe accused.
