RUSSIA AND CHINA.
LOKDON, May 13. It is reported that Russia bas obtained a concession of foreshore rights at Chefoo, in China, which will interfere with British traders. The Government; are making inquiriea as to the extent of the injury. May 14. It is now stated that it was Boma British! merchants who sold to the Eaasian Steimship Company the concession ah Ohafoo. Mr Ourzon, Parliamentary Secretary to the Foreign Oflic?, informed the Hnnae that the Chinese Government had beon warned not to include any British territory in the Russian concession without payment of compensation. St. PterisESßUKa, May 13. A Russian squadron will rendezvous at Ohefoo. [Ohefoo is one of the 24 treaty ports to which Great Britain has the right of acceßS. It is nituatcd on the north coast of the province of Shantung, and the town is estimated to have a population of 3J.50J. In 1893 the imports were valuel at 1,378,425 taels and the exports at 702.093 taels.]
