NEW ZEALAND STUDENTS AT EDINBURGH.
The .names of a number of New Zealand students appear in the clasß prize lists of the Univemity of Edinburgh for tho wintoc sess'on 1895-96, which are published in the Scotsman of the 25'h March. The following students from this colony took classes with credit :— Dr 0. Chilton, D Sc. (Dunedin)— "First-clasß honours in lectures on anatomy (senior students) : winner of the senior " Johu Aitken Carlyle bursary in anatomy and physiology; first-class honours in junior practical anatomy ; first-class honours and medallist hrphysiology (junior diviBion). Cl «ss of Practice of Medicine — William Andtrson, 70 per cent. Arthur A. Mt.r 'n, who wae amorg those gaining hono.iro in the Uoivmity of Edinburgh, is the eou of a guard on the Lnmsdet-Invercar-gill railway. He attended the Lawrence District High School, gained a scholarship tbere, but did not take it up ; was appointed to the civil se.-vlca at ellington ; while there continued his studi< a, parsed the medical preliminary, and then resigned his appointment, proceeding to Ediubargh to study for a medical degree.
