A LEAP lEAK LETTER.
Dear Emmgline, — Having jnst mad " Cigarette's " remarks on " Leap Year Less >ns to Girls," we wish to express our utter dimension with the views expressed in the article and tbe sentiment contained therein. We are four girl friends, and we feel the blush of shame rise to our cheeks to think that the boyß and young men of our acquaintance should read such an article, and accordingly put us on a level with the sordid and soulless wom.au (P) depicted in it. In our respective homes we have been taught that our lives have been wisely planned out by an omniscient God, and, whether married or single, it is our duty to make them pure and noble. - Though we tbink that marriage is not the end ajtid aim of an intelligent woman's cxister.es, ctill we regard it as one of the most sacred things on earth, and would protest against such a lowering of an ideal. Hoping you will find room in your invaluable paper for this protest of ours, — We are, &c, Quartet. [I regret to say that I caneot apart- any more space for discussing this subject. — Emmbunb.] IX7* Description! of bulls, &c, must be endorsed by cither the Witness correspondent for the district or by the secretary to the ball committee. The MS. of an; correspondents who do net comply with this rule will be sent to the secretary for endorsement prior to appearing. — EMMELINE.
