London, May 4. There is good competition afc tee wooi sales. Pi-icea ivm-iin unchanged. May 5. The Bradford market ia quiet, and bat little business is doirg. The wool market ia unchanged. Home bnyers are inactive, but tboee from the Continent are purchasing strongly. May 6. At the wool sales medium and best sorts &?e slightly firmer ; faulty ia weak.

At the wool sales medium merinos realised from par to 5 par cent, below March rates, faulty sorts from 7£ to 10 per cenfe., greasy croßsbreds B per cent., coarse from par to 5' per cent. Jacob&en and Go. report that tha decline is probably due to purchases in tha colonies being below London rates* and also to bad trade iv America. May T. Wool is unchanged. Therd is fair competition. M»y 8. At fcha wool salea "Dunedin" brand brought 10^d per lb. May 10. At the wool sales good qualities ware-firm, but inferior htfd a downward tendency. The sales otcso on the 16th inst, The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company (Limited) have received the following: telegram from their London offioe :— ■ " Wool : Si ios the close of last salea, greasy, washed, and scoured merino (medium and interior) are £d to Id per lb lower. Scoured mferino (super), fine washed and nooured •oroisbrad, medium greasy, washed and wcoured croisbred are £d per lb lo>v';r. Washed merino (super) and Sne gretay crossbred aro Id par lb lower. Greasy oi.is->i)red lambs io '£d pi>r lb higher. Medium gretay crossbred and course greasy, vraehed and acoured crossbred are pat to £d per lb lower. Competition of Home and foreign buyers is active, ?xc«pfc for wools of a faulty character which »re neglected. 'There is no American demand. Up to date 69,000 bales have be.en uotd, and 9000 b«,les withdrawn."
