Yorkshire County, playing ag&iust Warwickshire, scored 887, Jackson cootributrag 117, Wainwright 126, Peel 210, and Lord Hawke 166. Albert Trott played for Thornton's Bleven against Cambridge Uuiver«ity, and, scored 68, showing good foim.
[This is a double " record " :— <l) Yorkshire's score of 887 is not only the highest inning* ever played in county cricket (beating the 80* ra*de by Lancashire atainst Somerset l*at year), but al«o the htghe»t innings ou record ia a first-class match— beating the 843 made by the eighth Australian team agaluat Past and Present of Oxford and Cambridge Universities *t Portsmouth in 1893 (2) This is the first time that centuries have been made by four mon in one innings in a first-class match. This feat was only jnst missed by Exiex last year (against Somerset), when centuries were made by three b*tsman, while a fourth scored 99,]
