RABBITSKIN MARKET.
f Messrs Edward Thomas and Co., wool, sheepkin, rabbitskin, hide, tallow, and hair merchants, Bond street, report as follows :—: — The market continues active and prices are very firm at an advance for lately caught skins. We are sorry to notice so iruuy consignments coming to hand in damp condition. Skins green about the ts.il 'become maggoty and tainted, the result of which is not only a loss in weight but a loss in value. All skins should be thoroughly well dried before being sent aw-ay. Wnilu on the subject; of condition let us pay that serious complaints have been made in London about the growing practice of leaving fat on the skins, and we are quite sure that all badly cleaned lots will not receive the same attention this as they have done in previous teasons. Some fiinis in London refuse absolutely to have anything to do with fatty skius. We therefore take this early opp »rtunity of urging rabbiteis to pay more attention to cleaning, <fee. Lately caugh nkins in goo 1 condition are worth Jl£d to Is ; other sorts in proportion. We have fresh orders in hacd, and guarantee top pi-ices for all tent in to us. Our returns are free of all charges. Horsehair, 13Jd to 14d ; beeswax, Is ; hides, Sd to 3Jd (according to weight and condition).
