A TRAGEDY AT SEA.
SY.DNBT. April 21. The Tainan brings news of a tragedy on the high seas. The American schooner Lyman D. Foster, whioh arrived at Shanghai, reported on February 25 that- the Chinese cook had Attacked Captain Dreyer with an axe. The mate went to the o*pt*ia's »»»i«tance and wm badly wounded in «evaral places on the bead. The cook then drew a revolver aad shot tha oaptatn twice in' the breaat. He next attacked * sailor with the aza and tseiwrely wounded Wm. Ultimately the oook took refuge la the galley, which ha soaked in kerosene and set on fire. -' After much resistance the orew succeeded in capturing and tying him op, but while they ware getting the fire under he undid tb« lashing* and Jamped overboard.
