Alianton —It was decided not to adopt tha report, and it was found impossible to get a committee to stand owing to the balance nheet not having beeu passed by the auditor, -who had refuse.i to certify the same until the boaid bad been CoD»ulted. It appears that the sum of £i 10s had been granted '>y the board for repairs ou condition that a similar amount was raised locally. Thecommittee did not r*i»e the sum in the manner stated, but voted their contribution out of the ordinary school fund. The auditor objected to pass this item, hence the difficulty. Waipori — A good deal of interest was shown in this election as it was understood that an attempt would be made to oust the old committae for their action in supporting the teacher, who, as secretaiy of the Commonage Committee, recently took legal action against a looal squatt. r for trespass of nhrep. None of the candidates put up by the opposition succeeded, and thy public showed their confidence in tbe old committee by restoring them to their seats by large majorities.
