THE FRUIT DUTY.
la a former telegram I stated that the Government would probably take another vote with a view ot reversing the decision of the House to drop the extra fruit duties From April to November. This proves to be perfectly correct, for the Premier declared that •a k roault of private members tinkering with the tariff they would have to recommit the hill, as the wrong months had been selected during which the duties should be lowered.
