Loates) 0 Betting : 9 to 4 agst Whittisr, 3 to 1 None tho Wiser, 7 to 2 Le Var, 6 to 1 Le Ju^ttcier, 8 to 1 Troon, 25 to 1 Solaro, aud 100 to 1 Farndale and Bella Agues colt. 'froou, Fnrndale, and Le Justicier jumped off together. The first-named quickly gave way to Fumdnle, Le Justicier, and None tho Wisor, and then divided them from Whittier, Lo Var, and Solaro, with the Bella Agne« colt in the rear. At the mile post Le Justicier held a Blight command of Farndals, the pair now settling down clear of None the Wiser and Troon, who held a similar advantage over Solaro and Ls Var, with the Bella Agnes colt dropping further astern. Along the railway side La Justicier established daylight from Famdale. and wa-i two or three lengths ahead in rounding the bottom turn, the outsider being as far before None the Wiser, Troon, and Whittier. Already Cannon was bard at work upon Le Var, and when ho tailed off in company of Solaro and the Bella Agn*s colt in the line for homo a screw was evidently loose, so that the pulling up and dismounting a qnarter of a mi'c from home created no surprise. Before reaching the rails None tho Wiser to->k a prominent position betsveen Le Juttticier and Farndale, aud had no sooner pissed into second place than Lord n>we's horss likewise resigned to Whittier. Already the fate of Troin was senled, and as Whittier gave None tho Wiser the go- bye nearly two distances from home, Le Justicier added to a company which had been temporal ily reduced. If for a few strides Whittier raised the h-*pe3 of his iMckera they soon subsided, as ho nevor fairly made an impression upon the French colt, and ultimately succumbed by threo lengths ; four lengths between second and third. FamdaV? was fourth, Troou fifth, Snlaro sixth, and the Bolla Agues colt last, with the exception of Ln Var, who had broken down, lime, 2niin 13 3-sscc Value of tho Htakes, X 9285 to the winner.
