Agricum ural — Dming the past fortnight of good weather the farmern have bsen making the most of their time in sowing their crops. Sowing ia now well advanced, and I daresay by the time September hhall h-tve passed very little will remain to be done in that direction. ISccLKSUsriCAL. — The Presbyterian Church choir are busy practicing several selections for their social on October 1. Tea und cakes are being piovMed by the ladie-t, and as the proceeds go towards a fund for supplementing the Sabbath School library, we may look for a big gathering. It is pleating to note, that the Bible cl« 83 held fortnightly under tbe auspice* of the Prethylcrian Chinch cont'nues to flourish. Some time ago the committee agreed to enlarge the vestry to meet the increasing dumand for eeats for tho young folks attending the clafs. I understand that the Young Men's CJub anticipate holding * social soon to commemorate the closing of the first session of the club. This club was inaugurated by the young men at the begiuningof winter. Mr Oudaille, with his usual generosity, gave the young men the us> of the building known as the Athensuim gratis This the club put in order aud turned it into a comfortable redding loiitn. which has become a favourite resort, and in which are kept the lea ling dailies and weeklies, together with many of the most popular magazmeh uf the day. Mr Fiancis and Mr Ellis deserve special muntiou as contributing largoly towards tbe successful running of the club. Let us wish the club a long and useful career.
