July B.— The regujar monthly meeting of tbfl Peninsula Road Baarrt t hfcldat Higheliff on Satup. day, was attended by Messrs Stuart (i<ha<rmanl Fairbairn, M'Curdy, Kowe, Murray, and Davis Mr C. Weir attended to ask leave to take soil off Seal Point road. Permisiion was granted, subject to payment of 3a p»r load. The water-tables at Harbour Cone were ordered to be cleaned out. After a long discussion on the damage done to tha roads, particularly in tho Sandyaiount district, by cattle being at large, it w»s resolved to writo to the constable to endeavour to abate the evil. Ihe chairman and Messrs M'Curdy and Murray were asked to inspect the Ridge road, with power to act if the necessity is urgent. It was decided that those using sledges on the roads which have been metalled should be prosecuted. A lotter from W. Weir, asking to have certain alterations niaae m the rate roll, was received, the board having no power to act. It was decided to procure 20 loads of screenings or ashes for footpaths at Anderson's Bay. The audited balance sheet was laid before the board. Accounts for £106 10a Id were passed for payment. Tomahawk -The monthly meeting of the Tomahawk Road Board, held on Saturday, was attended by Messrs Stewart (chairman), Mathierfon, Small, Henderson, and Miller Tise surfacoman was instructed to clean culverts. Mr Wallace laid an offer before the board to quarry and break metal in the quarry at 2s 6d per yard. It was decided that the part of new road which was clayed by the late board be metalled, and that 14U yards of metal bo procured, 120 yards to be laid on the new road, and 20 yards used for repairing the road from the cemetery to the top of Lagoon Hill. Also that pipes be procured for the culvert on Millur s road. Accounts were passed for payment amounting to £81 12s 7d. •
