TUAPEKA MOUTH.

October R— lt is with sincere regret that I record the death, at the early age of 30, of Mr W. Daniells, eldest son of Mr S. Daniells, one of our early and much respected settlers. Deceased had been ailing for some time, but his complaint was not thought to be of a very serious nature until within the past few weeks, when he removed to Duriedin to consult the best medical authority. He was then advised to go to the hospital, where he died on the Ist inst. The body was brought home and interred in the local cemetery on Wednesday, 3rd inst., our missionary, Air M'Caw, officiating at the. grave in a \ery impressive manner. The funeral was a very large one, people coming from all parts of the district to pay their last tribute of respect to the deceased. A more 'kindly man or a more obliging neighb -ur it would be very hard to find. ; He leaves a wife and two children to mourn their lass, and much sympathy is felt for these and also for the bereaved parents. •
