PORTOBELLO RIFLE CLUB.
The fourth competition for prizes took place at the Wickliffe Bay range on Saturday. The ■weather was very bad, and only 12 competitors turned out — four in the first class and eight in the second class. RaDges : 400 and 500 yards ; 10 shots at each. The following are the highest scores :—: —
— Drunkards can bo cured by eating apples at every meal, ?aya a physician. Apples, if eaten in large quantities, possess properties which entirely do away with the craving that all confirmed drunkards have for drink. The doctor says that in many bad cases which have come under his notice he has been able to effect a cure by this means, the patient gradually losing all his desire for alcohol.
