FIXTURES FOR THE SEASON.

June (5, 7, 8 — Forlmry Cup and St. Leger, at DunediD. Nominations, 30th. May. July 4, 5. (i. —Waterloo Cup and Bracelet, at Dunedin. Nominations, 27th June. August 1, 2, 3.— Champion Stakes, Trial Stakes, and Consolation Stakes, at Dunedin. Noniinations for Champion and Trial Stakes, 25th July.

The' Committee of the National Coursing Club of New Zealand met last Friday at

Bern's Hotel, Mr Hugh Gourley being in the chair. A letter was received- from Victoria stating that one of the nominators in the Challenge Stake was a defaulter in co mection with a racing wager, and asking the club to take action in the matter. It was resolved that the secretary be instructed to write in the following terms :— " That as the case does not appear to have been brought before any recognised club, they have no jarisdictioa under their rules." A telegram was received from the secretary of the Auckland Coursing Club stating that several Victorian dogs were on their way down, and asking that special care be taken in the matter of registration.— Received. It was resolved that the Dunedin Jockey Club Plumpton Committee be asked to approve of the following gentlemen as stewards to act in conjunction with them during the several coursing meetings this season : Messrs Myers, Blaney, Wood, W. Mills, and R. Allen. A very handsome gold medal, suitably inscribed, was presented by Mrs Allen, of the Excelsior Hotel, as a trophy for the winner of the Challenge Stake. The secretary was instructed to convey to Mrs Allen the committee's hearty thanks for the handsome present.
