Messrs Moritzson and Hopkin, millers, grain S'oduce, and commission agents. Manse street, unedin, report (wholesale) as follows for week ending February 21, 1894 :— Wheat. — Nothing new to report on this line. All good to prime samples find buyers at quotations. Prime Tuscan up to 2s lOd ; pearl velvet, 2s 9d ; medium to good qualties, 2s 7d to 2s Bid ; fowls' wheat wanted, 2s 6d to 2s 7d. Oats : All offering are easily placed at for good milling and prime short feed, Is 11 Jd to 2s ; medium to good, Is lOd to Is lid ; inferior, Is Sd to Is 9d. Samples from the north are coming to hand at Is 9d for prime quality. Barley : There is no business doing in this line at present. We believe the market will be high and firm when opening. Potatoes: Supplies larger than for sime time past. Be3t kidneys, £3 155 ; medium to good, £3 to £i 15s ; Derwents have not much inquiry yet, £3 10s to £4. Chaff : Somewhat scarce again this week. For good prime well-cut oaten theaf £4 2s 6d to £4 ss is obtainable ; medium to good, £3 to £3 17s 6d. Pigs : We have good inquiry, and prime quality and suitable sizes would sell readily at 4d to 4id- Any one having any please forward at once. Butter : Salt, no demand for shipment, and local sales very small. Good quality, 6d to (5Jd. Cheese : Prime factory (medium sizes), 4fd ; loaf, 5d per lb ; Akaroa (large sizes), 4Jd to 4Ad ; loaf, 4Jd. Bacon: Scarce, (>}dto7i<i for rolls ; hams, Bdtoßjd. Onions, Bs(Jd perewt. Honey (extracted), 3f dto 4Jd. Grass Seeds : Ryegrass. Samples of the new season's are now offering, and find buyers at the following prices :— For farmers' best dressed, & ttd to 2s Sd ; extra good, 2s 9d ; medium to good, Is Sd to 2s 4d ; n>achine-dressed, 3a 3d to 4s 3d. Corksfoot : We have sold during the week at from 4d to 41d. New season's seed is now coming forward for ua to Lyttelton, and as samples are duty getting all cleaned, but will be offering in a few days. Values will range from 4d to 4id, with a rising; tendency. We shall this week publish returns for 1894 for Banks Peninsula, where there is a shortage of 20,000 sacks on las'; year's returns. The crop is shorter than in 1891, when prices were ruling up to 6d per lb. Crops in the North Island are also short and mostly discoloured. Cornsacks, 5s 3d per dozen,
