LITTLE IDA.
Soft eyes of brown, a head of gold, And pretty rosy cheeks ; A winsome thing, just three years old, Who very plainly speaks. She whispers that she loves but me, And then she laughs with childish glee. She always calls me " Uncle Bill," And hides her face in mine ; And her tiny little arms will Then round my neck entwine. I fear she's but a roguish tease Who's very often hard to please. Ah ! little maid with Bof t, brown eyoa And pretty, winning ways, If heav n, who ne'er a prayer denies, Would make my wedded days A life of bliss, she'd grant to me A little darling just like thee.
