TOMAHAWK ROAD BOARD.

The regular meeting of the Tomahawk Road Board was held on Saturday, and attended by Messrs J. A. Sanderson (chairman), J. Mathieson, T. Henderson, and J. Patrick. The dog tax was fixed at 5s per dog. Mr John Bishop was appointed dog registrar. The surfaceman was instructed to spread metal on Mackerras road, also to repair the remainder of the road, and to execute repairs at the culvert on the new road. Accounts to the amount of £6 were passed for payment, and the meeting was adjourned to April 7.

The applications for land in the Teaneraki settlement, which recently formed part of the farm of Mr William Meek, in the Oamaru and Awamoko survey districts, closed yesterday. The settlement comprises 344 acres, and is divided into 31 sections. There was not a single application made at the Crown Lands Office in Dunedin, and only 10 applications, chiefly for the smaller sections, were received at Oamaru, where the ballot takes place to-day.
