THE GAZETTE.
Messrs J. T. Mackerras, D. Pinkorton, J. Robin, and W. Wright are gazetted as members of the Otago Harbour Board. A schedule of lands is gazetted, acquired from the Natives under the Northern Trunk Line Act, of about 164, 000 acres in all. The Public Trustee gives notice of his intention to claim a section of 12 acres in Stewart's gully, on the Waimakariri river, and four perches in Beach street, Queenstown. A block of land in the Marinei district containing 8320 acres has been sot apart for selection by the Midland Railway Company. The Gazette notifies that the payment of capitation allowances to education boards for the current quarter Bhall bo according to the working average attendance of the last preceding quarter.
New regulations are gazetted empowering any collector of customs, constable, or officer appointed for the purpose to examine the contents of any bag, basket, &c. used by any person found near any stream where trout or salmon havo been liberated, in order bo ascertain whether they -were unlawfully taken. The Gazette contains the conditions on which the bonuses of £1750 and £250 are offered for an improved flax-dressing machine and & process for utilising waste products.
