Satisfied Him.
At a western county rifle range, whilst the targets were being prepared for competition the other day, a clerical gentleman rode up, and addressing tbe sergeant in charge, complained that bullets had fallen into his garden, in a village a mile or so in rear of the butts.
The " old eoldier," with a wink to his comrades, replied :
"I'll see that that doesn't happen again, sir. I'll put a man on top of the hill with special orders to stop the bullets from going over."
" Oh, thank you very much ! " responded the ecclesiastic, with a satisfied smile, aud rode off with the air of a man relieved of a mighty anxiety.
