TAPANUI.
Dlcj;mui:r s.— The Caledoniau .Society have issued a capital piogramme for their annual gathering on Boxing Day. They have albo secured the Eervices of the Mosgiel Band, and with such attractions one of the best gatherings in this district may be looked for. It id to be hoped that as the society ha 3 gone to such expen.se to gratify the tastes of the community, their efforts may be crowned with .success.
Let Tapanui .Flourish !— Mr C. I<\ L. Wrensted, the local chemist, is about to erect a new shop in the principal Etreet. This is evidence that the prospects of our town holding its own in the future as in the past are at least of a satisfactory nature, for Mr Wrensted is too shrewd a man to enter into building opeiations unless he has good reasons for doing so.
