The Spring meeting of the Canterbury Trotting Club was held on Friday. The weather was showery, but there was a large attendance. The sum of £3269 passed through the totalisator. Results :— '
Maiden Trot (saddle), of 25sovs. Two miles. — Black Eagle, lOsec, 1 ; lolanthe, scr, 2. Thirteen others started. Won by five lengths. Time, 6min 4sec. Dividend, £12 7s Cd. Maiden Trot (harness), of 25sovs. Two miles — Three Cheers, Bsec (Owner), 1 ; Black Duchess, (Owner). 2. Nine others started. Won by 00yds. Time, 6min 3sec. Dividend, £6 17s 6d. Addington Stakes (saddle), of 70sovs Two miles.— Sandgate, 35sec, 1 : Immerson, 33sec, 2. Twenty others started. Won by three lengths. Time, Smin 33sec. Dividend, £7 9s.
Sires' Cup (harness), of 45sovs. Two miles. — Emmerson, 38sec, 1 ; General Tracy, ssec, 2 ; Kentucky, Ssec, 3. Specification scr, Berlin Abdallah 13sec, Young Irvington 20sec, Bluegown 23sec, and Kentucky Wilkes 38sec also started. Won by three lengths.' Time, smin 52sec. Dividend, £4 195.
Selling Trot (harness), of SOsovs. Two miles.— Maid of Cotherstone, 15sec, 1; The Speaker, 18stc, 2 Six others started. Won by 30yds. Time, 6min 25sec. Dividend. £6.
Stewards' Stakes Handicap (harness), of 70sovs. Th*ee miles. — Telephone, 30sec, 1 ; Sonny, 34sec, 2 Eight others started. Won by 30yds. Time, Bmin 17sec Dividend, £3 ss.
