BIRCHWOOD HOUNDS AT HEDDON BUSH.

On Wednesday, the 19th, this pack met at Mr Clark's for the second time this season, the country being the same as that at the previous meet, and being really good. The field was not a very large one, but those at the meet were nearly all straight goers. Among them were the following :— Mr D. Clark (acting master) on Sir James, the huntsman on Tally-ho, the whip on Nimrod, C. Henderson on Fairy King, W. Henderson on Bluey, Mr Walker on Wings, Mr O. Clark on Income, Mr L. Ford on a chestnut mare, Mr Swale on a grey, Messrs Gerrard on a grey, a chestnut, and a brown, Mr Proven on a black colt, Mr "Lambert on a chestnut two-year-old, Mr Lawson on South Atlantic, Mr Boyle on a bay. There was a fair sprinkling of spectators present, the day being all that could be desired.

The jumping was excellent, and the pace very fast. The first run, of over three miles, was run in 9jmin, and the second run of about the same distance in llmin. Those who held a most prominent position were Mr D. Clark, Mr C. Henderson, Mr Rowley (on a grey), Mr Walker, and Mr Gerrard. The finish took place in the same paddock as that from which we started, at the back of Mr Clark's house. There were a few stops, and some falls occurred throughout the day among the novices, but none wero of a serious nature. After refreshments had been done justice to, Mr Walker thanked the farmers who had kindly allowed the club the use of their ground, and after three cheers had been given the day's sport was over. Old Spout.
