SANDYMOUNT.
May 9.— Another of Mr J. Neil's lectures (the last of the course) was given by that gentleman in the schoolroom, Sandymount, last Sunday evening. Mr Neil recapitulated the ground gone over in his former lectures on " Conditional Immortality," and claimed that he had proved from the Bible that the soul is not immortal, that the dead are sleeping until the resurrection, that hell is the grave, that evil in every form will be destroyed, and that Jesus will return to reign upon the earth. He also spoke at some length on the last words of Jesus on earth— viz., the command "Go ye into all the world, preach the gospel to every creature," Ac, emphasising the manner of the command as being faith, baptism, and salvation, instead of which many Christians had reversed their observance of this command by putting baptism before belief. Questions were invited, but as none were asked the meeting was brought to a close by a vote of thanks to Mr Neil for his lectures, which were given without fee or reward.
