Accident—Draughts players and others will regret to learn that Mr John Beid, of Oamaru, the enthusiastic president of the Oamaru Club, met with a serious accident on the night of the I Lumsden Club supper. He attended the Lumsden Club on the occasion of its wind up and while riding home In the evening he was thrown from his ; horse, and sustained rather severe injuries- to the face—particularly the.lower jaw.. Dr Copland and Dr "Dakers have attended to the i sufferer, and we hope to hear of his speedy recovery.
