Messrs Wbioht, Stkphbnbon, and Co. report v follows :—Had there been a sufficient number, ot the right stamp of horses forward to-day we should have been able to ohroniole a most successful • ale, as there were numerous buyers present for "P«anding hacks and harness horses, and also for both useful and extra heavy draughts ready for immediate work, and every horse entered to-day answering these description* was picked up if anything like a fair reserve price was asked for him Owing to the mesgrenets of the supply, the majority of the buyers present had to leave without being able to purchase a sufficient number for their requirements, and we therefore can with confidence recommend any of our country friends who have either young draughts or strong upstanding saddle or harness horses to send them in for next week's sale. To-day we offered 48 horses, and sold on account of Messrs Jas. Maofle and Co. (Limited), Thompson (Invercargili), J. Blehardson (Waitati). Dalziel (Oatnaru), D. Jenkins, and others, 28 draughts ana light horses. We quote: First - olass draughts (extra heavy), £25 to £30: good ordinary draughts (young), £18 to £22; medium draughts. £12 to £16; aged draughts, £6 to £10; good haoki and harness horses, '£12 to £16; medium hacks and harness horses, £7 to £9; light and inferior hacks and harness horses, £310 ato £5.
