CALEDONIAN CLUB.

The annual meeting of the Caledonian Bowling Clab Was held in the Shamrock Hotel on Tuesday night, when there was an attendance of about SO members. The [chair was occupied .by the senior vice-president (Mr Wedderspoon). Mr H. Fbnwick read the report of the committee, which showed that the number of members daring the past year was up to the average, there being 63 paid-up members. Ten ihterolab matches had been played, of which two had been won and eight lost. The fiveguinea prize presented by Mrs Tilburn (nee Miss Gebbie), hostess of the Shamrock Hotel, for competition between the Roslyn' and Caledonian Clubs, had been won by, the Caledonian Club, after a keen contest.' The new portion of the green was in good condition, and would no doubt prove second to none' in New Zealand. The record of the dab's* representatives at the tournament at Christchurch was very creditable, 10 prizes having fallen to their lot. At Oamaru, also, a third prize was gained by the club, a record unprecedented by any club in the colony. The Treasurer (Mr J. Robertson) read the balance sheet, which showed that the balance to the oredit of the club was £18 10s sd, as against a debit balance of £16 last year.

The following gentlemen were elected as office-bearers for the ensuing year :— President, Mr John Wedderapoon ; vice-presidents— (senior) Mr C. F. Greenslade, (janior) Mr Kirby ; treasurer, Mr James Robertson ; secretary, Mr S. D. Cronin ; committee — Messrs Evans, Blaney, Hogg, O'Connor, and Stokes; auditors, Messrs Black and G. Capstick ; delegates to association, Messrs JUawson and Wedderspoon ; matoh committee, Messrs Barlow and Young. The president then presented prizes to the winners as follows :— Champion bowls, G. Capstick; president's prize, F. Stokes } Mrßlaney's prize for yoong players, W. Rennie ; Mr Kirby's prize, John Davidson ; Mr Clifford's prize, W. Dodds; Mr A. Thomson's prize, — ■. Cololongh ; Mr Greenslade's prize for doable-handed four oowls, D. O'Connor And E. Hogg; rink medals — O'Connor, Stewart, Aris, and G. Oapstickfskip); Miss Gebbie's prize— J. Watson, B. Hogg, James Robertson, and J. S. Capstick. Rink prizes were presented to Messrs Dawson (M.H.R ) and C. F. Greenslade. Mr W. Densem was, on the motion of Mr John BarroD, unanimously etested an honorary member of the clab.
