KELSO.

March 23.— Mr W. Malcolm, a student of divinity who has been labouring among us, preached an excellent sermon to a large congregation at Kelso last night. The text was chosen from the 13th chapter of St. John and the 34th verse—" That ye love one another as I have loved you." The preacher taid that love was one of the finett wordt of the English language and far before faith. Love is seen by the eye, but faith is not. He then appealed to his hearers to make themselves known as Christians by their love and charity towards their fellow oreaturei. Mr Malcolm leaves this dlstrlot.and he carries with him the good withes of all with whom he has come in contact.

The committee of management oomists of fourfladlei and four gentlemen, with a president and vice-presi-dent, and secretary elected annually. The lady members take a gteat interest in getting up the programme and contributing towards it. At the end of the seision a door colleotion is made to pay expense! . An annual picnic is also held, which Is always a success.

WBATSEB.-Harvesting was being carried on rapidly till last Saturday, when a sudden storm took place and rain continued to fall for 12 hours. To-day there is every appearance of fine weather ensuing again. Stacking will soon be in !full swing, and if the weather keeps fine a fortnight will see the bulk in and a portion threshed.
