There was a lively Interest shown In town on Saturday over the rise in wheat at Home (says the Timaru Herald), and many farmers were heard deploring that they had sold " just too soon." Some prime Tuscan was sold at 3s 6|d and 3s 6d refuted by another holder. A Chrlstehuroh paper says there was quite a flutter in the corn trade in town on Saturday, and the offer of 3s 8d f.o.b. for prime samples of Tuscan, with every probability of a further rise in price, has cheered the hearts of many of those who, at the eirly part of the season, found a difficulty in getting any quotation whatever.
