Biverton.
I would not be surprised to hear that there were ghosts in Riverton. It looks the most likely of any colonial town I have seen to furnish abodes for ghosts. The many deserted, decaying houses, and gardens overgrown with rank grass, Buggest such suspicions. The same features will, however, make the town attractive to an artistic eye ; but certainly not to the commercial. These two types of mind have different ideals of beauty. I remember when walking up an avenue with a lady on a sunny autumn afternoon calling her attention to the fine effect of 'yellow leaves beneath the poplare. She thought it looked " very untidy,"
