Experiments made with large mobs of infected sheep conclusively proved tbe efficacy of M. Pasteur's treatment for anthrax.
The report of the Chamber of Commerce urges that steps should be taken by mercantile houses in Australia for a more equitable bill of lading. Reference is made to the continuance of the labour difficulties, and it is remarked that capitalists are not disposed to invest money in new industries. Gratification is expressed at the largely increasing proportion of wool sold locally, and the increased attendance of Home and foreign buyers.

The extraordinary fatality which has occurred among horses is causing great consternation among farmers in the Laidley district. Veterinary surgeons are investigating the matter.

The federal resolutions have been carried, and the ballot for the delegates to the convention resulted in the election of the Hon. J. C. Bray (Speaker of the House of Assembly), Dr Cockburn (Premier and Colonial Secretary), Sir J. W. Downes (M.P. for Barossa), Mr C. J. Kingston (member for East Adelaide), and Mr T. Playford (exPremier, and M.P. for East Torrens).
