P. Meyer, secretary) for week ending Friday, July 4, 1890 :- Since last writing the weather has been cold with hard frosts, nothing like the usual rainfall that has been recorded, and farmers still want a thoroughly soaking rain. Wheat remains at last quotations, at which figure several large transactions for export have taken place ; small lines are taken by local millers principally. Oats are difficult to move ; at present prices it can hardly fail to prove a remunerative business to buy with the view of holdInn over, and leveral traniaotions have come under notice with this objeot. Barley: A few parcels of
prime have changed hands, but medium and feed qualities are entirely neglected. Beans are taken for export where the sample is bright and not too much broken. Peass s During the week a very fair inquiry 1 has been manifest both for feed and hand threshed Prussian blues, consequently stocks have been somewhat reduced. Grass a.eed : The inquiry noted for ryegrass last week still 'ontinuee, and the same remark applies to cocksfoot. Potatoes: This tuber has seep fair Bales where Immediate delivery could be given; there are large stocks, and growers would do well to consider this when deciding on what to do with their crop.
