The pace was a cracker from the beginning, Conservator and Lusignan jointly out out the whole of the work to Tattenham Corner, where tbe tail was long enough for a comet, Crossing tbe road Lußignan beat a retreat, and Conservator then went on to below the distance, where he waa caught and passed by Armada and Parlington, to get on terms with whom the efforts of Theosophist and Padua were quite fruitless. But Galway, after losing his position, crept up very fast on the rails, and in the last 100 yds it was impossible to tell how the verdiot would go until the goal was reached. Then Parlington, on the whip band, had a head the best of Armada, with Galway in turn beaten by a neck. Time, 4min 14seo. Value of the stakes, £880.
