THE PUBLIC ART GALLERY.
The movement in favour of a Public Art Gallery for Dunedin has been so favourably received that the following list of the pictures acquired to da^e by the Public Art Gallery Committee will be of interest: — PURCHASED FROM THE EXHIBITION GALLERY. " Sunny Hours," by E. A. Waterlow, A.R.A. "Preparing for Market," by S. A. Forbes, R E.A.C. " Kirkwall," Orkney, by R. W. Allen. " November Pastoral," by W. D. Mackay. The following have been presented :—: — " The Adoration of the Magi," by J. R. Herbert, R.A.; presented by Mr Gassiot. " Broomielaw," Glaßgow, by Andrew Black; presented by Mr J.M. Ritchie. •• On Guard," by J. W. Chapman; presented by Mr M. J. S. Mackenzie. "A Cottage Door in Cornwall," by A. W. Sickert, A.; presented by Dr Belcher. "New Zealand Bush Scenery," by John Gully; presented by Mr Robert Hay. " Fagade of Church at Point deGird," France, by W. E. Wratislaw; presented by Mr E. Twopeny. " The Martyrdom of St. Elizabeth "; presented by Mr Murray Aston. Mr Jules Joubert has presented the busts of their Royal Highnesses the Prince and Princess of Wales.
