THE CREWE MURDER. (Per Press Association.) London, April 8.

Richard and George Davies, convicted of murdering their father, were hanged to-day. The Home Office yesterday received 3000 telegrams asking that a reprieve be granted, and the mother of the condemned lads and the jurors (who recommended them to mercy on the ground of their youth) cabled to her Majesty at Aix-les-Bains, but all without avail.

The younger Davies at the moment of the execution declared that he never struck his father.

It is understood her Majesty was favourable to respiting the Davies youths. The hangman was hooted. The press is indignant at the sentence being carried out. Both criminals died calmly.
