Draughts Items.

Mr Wille Gardner, the wellknown Leeds draughts expert, was married a lifctle while ago, which event has furnished the draughts editor of the Leeds Weekly Express with an excuse for indulging in little paragraphs of pleasantry at the bridegroom's expense. The following is one of his jokes which will bear repetition:—" In order to show that his ' brilliant career had not come to an abrupt termination ' Wille, by special permission, visited the club last Saturday night. Bub he left somewhat early, having forfeited his latch-key in accordance with the articles of agreement of his last match. During his brief stay he received many congratulations."
