WRIGHT, STEPHENSON, & CO. have received instructions from the undermentioned owners to sell by auctioD, at above time and place, the following Stud Horses, viz. : — On account of Mr John Trestrail, Melbourne : No. 1. — The Imported Coaching Stallion ORPHEUS, imported direct from the celebrated Oldenburgh Stud, Burwurden (near Roden* kirchen), Giand-dukedom of Oldenhurgh, Germany. Horses from this Stud have in recent years taken over 400 Prizes, Medals, &c, in Europe and America. Orpheus is the pure type of a Coaching Stallion — in fact, the best specimen the auctioneers have seen on this side the Line. He was bred by Edward Lubben, and was foaled on 21st April 1886, is a very rich brown with black points, and stands 16hds 3|in high. He is sired by lago, by Agamemnon, by Fellachich (dam by Zernebock) ; dam by Cleveland, by Young Duke of Cleveland, by Duke of Cleveland, by Magistrate (dam of Conqueror). No 2.— The Imported Clydesdale Stallion LUCKY WILLIE, a bright bay rising five years old and " quality all over " ; bred by the late Mr Dougald Newtou Stewart, of Boghead. Sire, the famous Glasgow Premier Horse Hawkhead, by Drew's Prince of Wales (673, vol. i.), &c. ; dam, Beauty, by Clyde (1621, vol. iv.) No. 3.— The Bay Clydesdale Entire Colt DUNCAN GILLIES, foaled November 1886; bred by T. Hogan, Esq., Neerim Station, Gippsland. Sire, Baron Grant, imported from Scotland (see 2581, vol yi, " Clydesdale Stud Book ") ; dam, Earl's Bonnie, by Pride of Glasgow, by Champion of Scotland ; grand dam, Muir Lad's Molly, by Muir Lad (imp.), &c, &c.
