NENTHORN.
September 3.— Everybody here is far too busy to make social news, and besides, general interests and feelings are too much absorbed in the main chances of life for anyone to devote his time or allow his idiosyncrasies to display his share of the weaknesses and toibles of our common humanity. General news, therefore, is Jikely to be tame for some time to come, and will run rather upon historical than histrionic lines ; in fact, we only have begun to unfurl the prologue of the life drama, to be enacted upon the Nenthorn stage. Not sufficient of the incidents of the drama have transpired to allow one to even gueßS at the plot, much leas to forecast the denouement. But whatever turn the play may take, tho tableaux and situations will be faithfully chronicled In the columns of the Daily Times and Witness, %a scene by scene and act by act display the varying fortunes of the actors, and their place as integers in the welfare of the colony as a whole. May the task of the chronicler be a pleasant and a pleasing one, Building is still going on, and the township of Nenthorn may be Bald uo have now*, attained largerdimensions than any of the older goidfield towns in Otage, and as to the nature and substantiality of its buildings, leaves moat of them far behind.
