THE MIDLAND RAILWAY.

Itwas rumoured in Christchurch on Friday that in consequence of letters sent to England by members of the Ministry the Midland Railway Company had collapsed, and that all work had to be given up. Mr Alan Scott, general manager here, admits that certain damaging and incorrect infor nation, sent from the colony to London, has done the company an immense amount of damage by once more delaying operations. There is, however, no question whatever of the abandonment of the work.
